I know Don through the stories his daughter Leanna shared with me over the many years of our friendship. I am quite close with Leanna and there would not be a day that went by where I did not hear about Don in some way. He made such a vibrant and loving appearance in all aspects of Leanna's life and the stories she shared were stories that I won't ever forget. Not only did Leanna share stories, but she shared the most beautiful photos of Don playing with his grand children and enjoying the simple pleasures of life like a simple walk in High Park. I never got to meet Don in real life, but it feels like I have. His kind personality is something that came across so strongly in everything that Leanna shared with me. Don loved ice cream cake, had the most fabulous sense of fashion, and then there was the music. Leanna can crush me any day in a music trivia challenge and has a great appreciation for all types of art forms. From what I know of Leanna, I can see a lot of Don in the way she treats others and lives her life. I am very grateful that the universe gave me the friendship I have with Leanna and therefore knowing Don through her over the last few years. I will cherish those memories for a lifetime.
